At Embedded World 2016 in Nuremberg, Germany this week several different carrier boards for the NVIDIA Jetson TX1 module were being displayed by Auvidea and Connect Tech Inc. Over the last couple of months, companies have been working hard to build carrier boards built to satisfy different market needs for the Jetson TX1 compute modules.
Auvidea Jetson TX1 Carrier Boards
Staring back in November of 2015, Auvidea started working with members of the diydrones.com community to develop a carrier board which is suitable for UAV applications. With the help of the communities suggestions, the feature set was refined and different iterations of the initial boards have been produced. Currently there are three different boards, each suited towards different needs.
The J100 carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson TX1 has the same form factor as the TX1 module and brings out several different interfaces to connectors onboard. These interfaces include CSI for cameras, USB3, UARTS, HDMI and more. Power is 12 volt.
The J200 holds two Jetson TX1 modules with a larger variety of expansion options than the J100. The J200 is designed for compute intensive tasks, and can be placed in a standard openGear chassis.
At the show, the J200 board was being show along with a J100 that is demoing software from a Stereolabs ZED camera.
Auvidea is also running an Indiegogo campaign for the Jetson Pi, which is billed as “A Raspberry Pi on steroids”.
The Jetson Pi carrier board is based on the J100. Read the campaign for up to date information.
Connect Tech Inc.
Connect Tech Inc. (CTI), an Ontario, Canada-based embedded-computing group, has launched the Astro Carrier for Jetson TX1. It’s the first commercially available, deployment-ready carrier board for our supercomputing module. – See more on the NVIDIA blog.
The Astro Carrier for NVIDIA Jetson TX1 is a small footprint carrier board for the Jetson TX1 module which features USB and HDMI ports, along with 3 camera seal interface channels. Astro Carrier is designed to work with COTS or custom break out boards.
Connect Tech Inc also announced ‘Elroy’ which is a lower cost carrier board for the Jetson TX1. Elroy is slated for April delivery.
